A former Wage-Hour investigator, Mark left the U.S. Department of Labor and established Mark Knuckles Associates, Inc. with full-time professional consulting.

Recognized as an FLSA & Part 525 Commensurate Wage expert, Mark has presented conferences and spoken to private, non-profit & public sector employers and groups providing comprehensive compliance training. Mark has been a long-time member of the Society for Human Resource Institute, earning the SPHR, Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HRCI, the Human Resource Certification Institute, and the Senior Certified Professional, SCP, from the Society For Human Resource Management, SHRM, www.shrm.org. He has testified in federal court as a USDOL investigator when employed by the Wage-Hour Division and as a consultant FLSA expert.

Mark is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. In 1969, he served in Vietnam with the 135th Assault Helicopter Company, a special international unit comprised of U.S. Army and Royal Australian Navy pilots, crew, and support personnel. Mark flew UH-1 'Huey' helicopters, earning 27 Air Medals and the Bronze Star. Mark is a member of First Baptist Church in Hartwell, Georgia. Before moving to Hartwell, he was a member of FBC Hickory and held lay leadership positions, including Deacon Committee Chair, personnel committee Chair, Church Reconciliation Committee Co-Chair, Youth Division Director, adult, youth, and children teacher. He has also served on community boards, including the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce. He is now semi-retired and lives in Georgia on Lake Hartwell with his wife, Joy. They have two sons:

John, a UNC-Charlotte graduate and now a general manager of a vending and soft-drink company, and James, a Graduate of Mars Hill College, now an HR consultant with the firm and serving as the business manager.
